James Lee – Coach
James is a CrossFit Level-1 trainer. After many years of “Globo Gym” style training (back and bi’s, chest and tri’s), James was introduced to CrossFit by a friend after he suffered a shoulder injury. James immediately noticed that CrossFit was different from other training programs. Some of the aspects about crossfit he liked most were the dedication and attention to detail of the coaches he learned from, the great community that welcomes athletes of all levels of experience and ability and the performance based approach to fitness.
James is passionate about doing CrossFit, introducing others to CrossFit as well as teaching others how to do CrossFit correctly. He is dedicated to his athletes to instill and demand proper form during all aspects of training. He is constantly looking to improve his technique as well as the technique of those he coaches.
As a child, James played almost every sport you can think of including basketball, football, soccer, hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, badminton and track and field. One of the aspects he enjoys most about CrossFit is the competitive nature it brings to exercise and fitness. This competitive style of fitness keeps workouts fun and introduces an intensity into workouts that makes CrossFit-style training so successful at producing results.
James’ “day” job is an Air Traffic System Specialist (electronics technician geek) for the F.A.A. at the New York Air Route Transportation Control Center. He is also currently a member of the New York Air National Guard as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer. He has deployed as an Avionics Technician to Iraq, Afghanistan, Djibouti and Turkey.
